PROGRAM: Functional Family Therapy

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lead Family Therapy Coordinator is tasked with delivering direct support to adolescents and their families. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including evaluation and assessment, community-based services, outreach initiatives, case management, family therapy sessions, documentation, and collaboration with other professionals and community resources. The Coordinator also plays a crucial role in supervising and developing assigned programs and staff.

SUPERVISION: Reports to: Director of Home-Based Treatment Services (or designee)

Supervises: Functional Family Therapy staff, interns, and designated personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct thorough evaluations and create treatment plans for adolescents and their families, including home and community-based services.
  2. Design and implement treatment strategies that may involve psychotherapy and essential support services such as translation and transportation (as per agency policy).
  3. Deliver community outreach and treatment services in various settings, including agency offices, client residences, schools, and shelters.
  4. Facilitate weekly clinical team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  5. Maintain regular contact and follow-up with families, which may involve daily home visits and therapy sessions.
  6. Ensure confidentiality and proper management of program documentation.
  7. Uphold productivity standards as set by the Executive Director and program supervisor.
  8. Oversee assigned staff and interns, providing guidance and support.
  9. Assist the Director of Outpatient and Community Support Services and Executive Director with daily clinical and administrative tasks.
  10. Contribute to program development, grant writing, marketing, and community outreach efforts.
  11. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders involved in cases.
  12. Support the organization and implementation of program activities.
  13. Participate actively in Functional Family Therapy training and internal meetings.
  14. Ensure adherence to the Functional Family Therapy model among program staff.
  15. Engage in agency and community committees as needed.
  16. Participate in supervision and provide regular updates to the supervisor.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A master's degree in marriage and family therapy or social work, along with a Connecticut license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or a doctorate in psychology with a Connecticut psychologist license is required.
  • A master's degree in a human service field with at least one year of clinical internship experience working with children and/or adolescents, and a Connecticut license as a Professional Counselor will be considered.
  • A minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents, or families is required; four years of experience is preferred.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision and obtaining necessary credentials from recognized bodies may be required. Familiarity with family therapies and intensive in-home service models is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and valid auto insurance are required.
