Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care East Meadow. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a physician to provide prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning services for athletic injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial on-field assessments of acute injuries and illnesses, providing first aid and triage as necessary.
  • Monitor and coordinate training, follow-up, and evaluation programs for athletes.
  • Assist in the implementation and yearly re-evaluation of school athletic policies, including EAPs, Concussion Management, and Standing Orders.
  • Provide advice to athletes, parents, and coaching staff on injury prevention, health, and wellness, as well as flexibility training.
  • Design and implement injury prevention, conditioning, and fitness programs for athletes, pursuant to physician order and supervision.
  • Work closely with members of the community to provide educational opportunities and promote NYU Winthrop's services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from an Accredited Athletic Training Program (CAATE).
  • Current and valid NYS Department of Education Athletic Training License.
  • Certification through the Athletic Training Board of Certification (BOC).
  • CPR and AED Certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Health Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field.
  • Concussion Management Certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in interscholastic or intercollegiate sports programs.
