Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will ensure the efficient operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities at Lamons. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Equipment Fabrication: Constructs and fabricates replacement parts to repair equipment using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots hydraulic and pneumatic controls and systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Familiar with preventative and predictive maintenance practices, including the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Project Planning: Plans mechanical assembly of equipment/components.
  • Collaboration: Interfaces with operations, maintenance, and various technical disciplines when developing and resolving issues with project requirements.
  • Equipment Assessment: Advises management on the continued ability to use unsuitable equipment or machinery and conducts assessment and testing for unstable equipment.
  • Automation Integration: Ability to integrate automated components like servers, timers, switches, etc. on older machinery.
  • PLC Programming: Programs and troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipment.
  • Supply Chain Management: Orders specialized supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Safety Protocols: Familiar with OSHA jobsite and manufacturing plant safety requirements.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team setting.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office required.
  • CAD Proficiency: Working knowledge of CAD in SolidWorks, Panel Builder, Sky CAD, etc.
  • PLC Programming: Knowledgeable in writing/editing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs on multiple platforms.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot NCs on CNC equipment.
  • Electrical Systems: Familiar with AC/DC electrical systems from 5VDC – 600VAC single and three phase.
  • Safety Certifications: Knowledgeable in NFPA 70E and OSHA manufacturing safety expectations.
Education and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred Education: 2 or 4-year degree in mechanical, technical, or related degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Certification in related trade school preferred.
  • Work Experience: 2 years of previous work experience in building systems (electrical, heating, plumbing, etc.) required.
  • Preferred Experience: 2 years of general work experience in carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning preferred.
  • Troubleshooting Experience: Previous work experience in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuits.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Abilities: Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to move between departments, and properties to facilitate work.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand information presented orally and/or in writing.
  • Blueprint Reading: Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel for maintenance support required at branch locations.
