As a member of our Production Operations (Prod Ops) team, you will play a vital role in supporting various programs.

We are at the forefront of producing next-generation missiles, harnesses, and chassis for Targets, Hypersonic, and Mars vehicles.


This role is for an Associate Manager of Manufacturing Engineering overseeing multiple initiatives within the electronics assembly and harness facility. This position may involve travel and support for other manufacturing operations.

Your responsibilities will encompass leading the technical team daily to fulfill engineering requirements, adhere to schedules, and meet cost objectives while providing production updates to leadership.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise manufacturing engineers, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and task assignment.
  • Direct the team in shop floor support, maintain manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, and implement engineering changes while coordinating adjustments in the build process within an electrical/mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design efficient machine layouts within plant facilities to optimize production capabilities.
  • Create operational procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, ensuring product performance.
  • Modify machine or equipment designs to suit factory and production conditions, incorporating inspection and testing requirements into the production plan.
  • Assess machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, initiating corrective actions to address issues and ensure product quality.
  • Formulate manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and develop those techniques.
  • Provide engineering guidance on design concepts and specifications to maximize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure compliance of processes and procedures with regulations.
  • Communicate with internal and external customer contacts on routine matters, offering solutions to various technical challenges.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing, specifically in harness assembly, integration, and/or testing operations.
  • Proven experience leading a technical team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance, with interim clearance required prior to starting.
Desired Skills:

  • Leadership experience, both formal and informal.
  • Experience presenting to senior government and/or Lockheed Martin leadership.
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or equivalent industry processes (Earned Value Management Systems, Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Qnotes, FFMEAs, FOE/FOD, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Space Systems or equivalent industry tools (ERP/SAP, Apriso, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.).
  • Lean Manufacturing experience and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certifications.
  • Experience with Electro Static Discharge (ESD).
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of aerospace and manufacturing products.
  • Strong communication skills between Program, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Proven skills in troubleshooting production flow issues.
  • Basic knowledge of harness tooling and formboard development.
  • Familiarity with 3D Printing technologies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience conducting design reviews.
  • Background in development environments.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is necessary for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin offers various alternate work schedules for added flexibility. Options range from standard 40-hour weeks to condensed schedules, providing additional time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour days, with 3 days off each week.
