Role Overview
The Mobility Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing patient recovery by promoting and facilitating early mobility initiatives. This position is integral to ensuring that patients reach or maintain their optimal functional capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients in achieving their highest level of functionality.
- Deliver direct early mobility care and perform assigned tasks.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions regarding patient progress.
- Adhere to established care plans and directives.
- Monitor vital signs prior to initiating mobility activities.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement mobility plans.
- Provide education and support to staff regarding mobility practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Life Support Certification: AHA BLS – HCP certification is mandatory.
Additional Requirements: Completion of hospital orientation, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in computer systems, and knowledge of medical terminology.
