Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery Med Surg Weekend team. As a nurse on this unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of surgical patients, from general surgery to gastrointestinal, head/neck, and vascular cases. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care, collaborating with medical providers, and acting as an advocate for patients and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in patients' medical records.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in the event of unintended responses.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (CPR) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
