Key Responsibilities:
As a Quality Control Service Technician, you will be responsible for executing service tasks in alignment with ABB's quality and safety standards. Your daily activities will include:
- Providing top-notch customer service while adhering to service requests and expectations.
- Collaborating with clients onsite to pinpoint areas for operational enhancement and address challenges.
- Conducting field service operations, diagnosing technical issues, and performing analyses through both remote and onsite engagements.
- Preparing necessary materials for service tasks, ensuring all components meet quality standards.
- Training field service associates and clients as required.
- Associate degree in a relevant field with over 8 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, or process control, or a high school diploma with 10+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments, such as voltmeters and multi-meters.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with a foundational understanding of electrical theory and safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience diagnosing electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and performing preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with voltage systems exceeding 240 VAC/870 VDC.
- Comfort with basic hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of the paper manufacturing process and process control concepts is advantageous.
- Experience with DCS programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Understanding of server/client infrastructure and virtualization is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 15% for training and support at other locations.
- Work authorization in the US is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
