We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Urology R&D Engineer Co-op to join our team at Boston Scientific. As a key member of our Research and Development team, you will play a critical role in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute meaningfully to new product development, including the design, testing, and launch of innovative urology products.
- Support solutions to a variety of problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
- Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to a technical community.
- Assist in troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
- Engage with internal company contacts, using diplomacy and tact in interactions and problem-solving.
- Translate customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
- Train technicians/operators on new processes and/or test procedures.
- Support concepts and designs for new products/processes and submit idea disclosures.
- Exact duties depend on the candidate, but we strive to find the overlap between a student's interest and current project needs.
- Work cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on projects of varying complexity to ensure project success.
- Explore career options within and outside of R&D, network, and collaborate with employees to learn about other job functions and company divisions.
- Work on personal development goals, taking dedicated time to advance skills beyond engineering, such as public speaking, data presentation, interviewing, and networking.
- Join in any activities and events available to full-time employees, including professional groups and Employee Resource Groups.
- Current Bachelor's student between Sophomore to Senior year or grad student, with the ability to graduate during your co-op term.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Systems, Materials, or Packaging Engineering.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
