About Us:

As a recognized Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), level two organization, we serve over 6,400 patients annually across multiple locations. Our mission is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that emphasizes prevention and healthy living while reducing healthcare disparities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist all patients and visitors with a friendly demeanor.
  • Identify the purpose of visits or calls and guide individuals to the appropriate areas.
  • Conduct intake procedures, including explaining necessary forms.
  • Update and confirm demographic information for existing patients, including contact details and insurance information.
  • Register new patients efficiently.
  • Ensure timely check-in for patients, monitoring wait times to maintain a positive experience.
  • Participate in daily team meetings to discuss patient needs and scheduling.
  • Assess appointment requests based on patient needs and established protocols.
  • Maintain and update eligibility reports as needed.
  • Facilitate the rescheduling of appointments and gather feedback on patient satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about current scheduling standards and tools.
  • Provide information about sliding scale discounts and eligibility for various services.
  • Explain the 340B medication program to patients and ensure accurate information is maintained.
  • Collect payments for services rendered during patient check-in.
  • Direct medication refill requests to the appropriate clinical staff.
  • Resolve issues related to patient records and insurance information as they arise.
  • Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Collaborate with Patient Accounts to address account-related concerns.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and common areas.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity in all interactions.
  • Be available for occasional evening and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Assist in training new staff members when necessary.
  • Be willing to travel between different health center locations as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is mandatory.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a primary care setting is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a courteous and empathetic approach.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and phone systems.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least one year of experience in a public-facing role is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations.
  • Sound judgment in handling clinical and behavioral health situations.
