Position Overview

Avantax Planning Partners is on the lookout for a Financial Planning Consultant dedicated to managing a portfolio of clients provided by our esteemed network. This role is pivotal in expanding our client base through referrals and connections with CPAs associated with Avantax Planning Partners. Collaborating closely with a Financial Service Assistant (FSA), the Financial Planning Consultant will concentrate on addressing the financial aspirations of clients, ensuring a pathway to financial independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with affiliated CPA firms.
  • Engage and motivate affiliate CPAs to generate client leads for various financial services, including Investment Management and Insurance products.
  • Collaborate with Client Development Specialists to identify opportunities for both existing and potential clients.
  • Craft Investment Policy Statements alongside CPAs and clients, assessing their needs and recommending suitable solutions.
  • Facilitate the necessary documentation with the assistance of the Financial Service Assistant to initiate new accounts.
  • Conduct meetings with clients and CPAs to present tailored solutions and complete required paperwork.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports to clients, CPAs, and Avantax Planning Partners.
  • Develop new business relationships through regular client reviews, focusing on asset management and appropriate insurance offerings.
  • Proactively reach out to prospects and existing clients to drive business development and increase assets under management.
  • Provide analytical insights to CPAs regarding investment, insurance, and annuity products.
  • Effectively communicate financial concepts to clients, making informed recommendations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes.
  • Conduct workshops for clients as part of prospecting and service enhancement.
  • Commit to continuous improvement in service quality.
  • Keep abreast of evolving technology, including financial software and tools.
  • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience or training.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, along with internet navigation skills.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Required: FINRA Series 7/66 or 63/65 combination.
  • Preferred: CFP certification.
  • Preferred: Insurance licenses, including Life, Health, and Long-term Care in select states.
  • Completion of ongoing Continuing Education credits is mandatory.
  • A valid Driver's License is essential.

Work Environment

  • Involves keying/typing, standing, and walking.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods.
  • Demands constant mental and visual attention in a typical office setting.
  • Generally performed under comfortable working conditions.
  • Must comply with company attendance standards.
