Job Summary:

As a Maintenance/Engineer with Great Lakes Hospitality Group, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical structure of our hotel, including performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep of the property. You will also be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the hotel, including landscaping, snow removal, and other related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC functions.
• Maintain the hotel's grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and other related tasks.
• Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy.
• Keep records of rooms completed and program phone equipment according to hotel needs.
• Observe equipment and utility meter readings on a daily basis and stay accessible to Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
• Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets and ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
• Learn emergency procedures and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls using clippers, weed cutters, and edging tools.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs using shears, pruners, or chain saw.
• Clean grounds and remove litter using spiked stick or broom and shovel snow from walks and driveways.
• Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup and plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Water lawn and shrubs and may repair fences and gates, walls, walks, etc. May paint fences, and outbuildings. May clean out drainage ditches, and culverts.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move materials and products and work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
