Job Description
This is a full-time opportunity for a seasoned project engineer to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in construction project management.
Responsibilities
- Work with the project manager and superintendent to oversee construction projects from initial planning stages to final completion.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to established timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide regular project updates and address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Perform daily job walks to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, submittals, and drawings, and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure on-time procurement of approved select materials, equipment, and finishes to meet the project schedule.
- Resolve technical problems or conflicts that may arise during construction and provide innovative solutions to keep projects on track.
- Enter daily updates and reports in Procore to ensure up-to-date project tracking.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management software Procore, and Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with SDCI and SDOT building codes, permits, and safety regulations.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate project documentation.
- Professional certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), are a plus.
Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $130,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience.
