Job Title: Prep Cook

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our team at Thomas Cuisine. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and efficiency of food preparation and service in our corporate dining cafeteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ingredients for sandwiches, salads, soups, and other deli items, including slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning according to recipes or customer preferences.
  • Cook various food items, including grilled sandwiches, french fries, and other menu items, ensuring they are cooked to the appropriate temperature and consistency.
  • Assemble sandwiches, wraps, and other deli items according to customer orders, following standardized recipes or customizing orders based on customer preferences.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing recommendations as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service efficiently.
Requirements:
  • ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization.
  • High School Diploma/GED
Physical and Sensory Requirements:

Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements. Ability to distinguish colors for food presentation.
