Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Legal Documents: Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing all aspects of litigation cases from inception to resolution, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining the case calendar.
  • Discovery Process: Coordinate the discovery process, including document review and productions, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to corporate history and litigation matters, providing insightful analysis to support our attorneys.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating with witnesses and experts.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in legal research and writing, strong understanding of litigation procedures, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in legal software, document management software (Relativity and DISCO), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
