About the Role

Ryder is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automotive Technician to join our team as a Mobile Light and Medium Duty Automotive Technician. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing diagnosis, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance for our non-contractual customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Vehicle Maintenance: Tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, fuel filter changes, fluid checks, alignments, basic suspension replacement, and light and mirror replacements.
  • Assist Higher-Grade Maintenance Specialists: Diagnose, repair, or replace engines, parts, transmissions, and other fuel components.
  • Hydraulic Brake Inspections and Repairs: Inspect, repair, and replace hydraulic brakes.
  • Operate Mobile Maintenance Vehicle: Travel to customer yards within assigned regions to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Represent Ryder: Establish relationships with customers, ensure proper documentation of work orders, and represent Ryder in a professional manner.
  • Perform Environmental Duties: Conduct site inspections, site clean-ups/disposals, and vehicle chemicals with guidance and direction.
  • Comply with Federal/Regional and Corporate Guidelines: Work in accordance with all federal, regional, and corporate compliance guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Preferred.
  • Vocational or Professional Diploma: Preferred.
  • Two Years or More of Combination of Classroom Training and Work Experience: Required.
  • Non-Commercial Driver License CLASS E: Preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A: Preferred.
  • State Driver's License: Required.
  • Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test, Ryder Background Check, and Motor Vehicle Check: Required.
