The Culinary Support Specialist is essential in facilitating seamless meal service for patients within designated units. This position encompasses everything from selecting menu items to assembling trays, delivering meals, and retrieving them post-service. Additionally, the specialist addresses special requests and manages food deliveries between meals. Adhering to established food service standards is crucial to guarantee exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient meal service on assigned units, which includes menu selection, tray assembly, delivery, and retrieval
  • Ensure adherence to dietary guidelines and customized diets, collaborating closely with the dietitian to accommodate food preferences within dietary restrictions
  • Provide precise reports to the department team and other organizational members
  • Exhibit proficiency in technical skills and patient care practices in accordance with Washington Hospital's protocols

Compensation: Starting rate of $17.87/hr, with potential increases after 90 days of employment and additional pay for afternoon and weekend shifts.

Work Schedule: Rotating daylight and afternoon shifts between 5AM and 7PM, with flexibility required for these hours. The schedule includes rotating holidays and weekends.

Weekly Hours: Commit to working between 16-32 hours weekly in the Nutritional Services department.
