Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is a key member of the rehabilitation team, responsible for providing high-quality speech, language, and swallowing therapy to patients. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and adhering to all relevant state and facility regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a range of disorders, including motor speech disorders, language disorders, voice disorders, cognitive deficits, and dysphagia.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes, adhering to professional standards of practice.
  • Oversee and participate in the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive therapy records.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Provide documentation to maintain the quality of medical records, adhering to reimbursement guidelines, accuracy of billing information, and facility requirements.
  • Participate in patient, family, and facility meetings as appropriate.
  • Follow administrative policies and procedures, including those related to emergency procedures, infectious disease control, and safety.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in training programs for facility staff, residents, families, and rehabilitation staff.
  • Initiate new program development with a focus on functional outcomes to improve the quality of life for facility residents.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program.
  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology License to practice in the relevant state(s).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective leadership and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.
