Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field investigations and gather data, including traffic counts.
  • Analyze and summarize accident reports.
  • Develop traffic and accident assessments, memoranda, and engineering reports in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conduct traffic capacity analyses and simulations.
  • Evaluate traffic operations for projects ranging from small intersections to complex urban arterial networks.
  • Prepare signal warrant studies and timing analyses.
  • Assist in designing traffic signal plans, signage, and pavement markings.
  • Support the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with team members, consultants, and clients.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and excursions.
Qualifications
  • Engineer-in-Training or Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on traffic engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is desirable.
  • PE Certification is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, including drafting documents in Word, organizing data in Excel, and creating presentations in PowerPoint. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks effectively, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.

Familiarity with traffic software such as HCS, Synchro, and Vissim is a plus. Knowledge of PennDOT standards, MUTCD, and AASHTO guidelines is beneficial. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, along with excellent interpersonal skills, is expected.
