- Perform comprehensive assessments on assigned patients and document findings.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly and effectively.
- Utilize nursing diagnosis and data to derive realistic outcomes and document measurable goals on the plan of care.
- Identify and prioritize patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis for patients and document accordingly.
- Patient Education and Ethics
- Support patient/family/spiritual/cultural needs when assessing patient and family needs for teaching.
- Identify patient's learning level and readiness, and document education record.
- Utilize teach-back methodology for advancing patient education about medication side effects and new medication education.
- EBP and Research
- Implement nursing interventions consistent with established plan of care based on evidence-based care.
- Maintain and advance professional image and science of nursing and practice of professional nursing through use of best available evidence.
- Healing Safe Environment
- Demonstrate safe medication administration through use of bar coding.
- Promote and strive to protect health, safety, and rights of patient.
- Relationship to Colleagues
- Oversee and direct work of patient care or support techs; maintain overall accountability for care of assigned patients.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in leading and directing others.
- Resource Utilization
- Ensure appropriate level of care order is documented in EMR for all admissions.
- Understand and adhere to charging of supplies.

- Assure all electronic and paper documentation is complete.
