Swim Instructor Job Description

The Highland County YMCA is seeking a skilled Swim Instructor to join their aquatics team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing leadership, instruction, and motivation to students while building relationships with members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct swim lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants while providing motivational support and guidance.
  • Encourage member and parent involvement.
  • Convey basic program and schedule information as necessary.
  • Maintain progress reports and attendance records as required.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
  • YMCA Swim Instructor or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct participants on swimming skills and stroke techniques.
