Job Overview:

As a key member of the UNFI Transportation Department, the Transportation Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and delivery services. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and set up new customer accounts on designated master routes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods.
  • Apply new and existing accounts into our database, maintaining up-to-date information on customer and route accuracy.
  • Update and maintain all map books, ensuring that our drivers have the most current information on routes and customer locations.
  • Provide transportation assistance to drivers, including resolving route delivery issues and customer call backs.
  • Work closely with the Business Analysis Supervisor to maintain accurate customer information and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, outside sales representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Manage returns and request feedback from warehouse on relocation of returns for reshipment.
  • Recap customer activity and update active/inactive accounts to maintain accurate master routes.
  • Accompany delivery drivers to the loading dock and inspect returned trailers to collect returns and ensure trailers are empty.

Requirements:

  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the success of the Transportation Department.
