Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team at Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates of Hampton. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and staff.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on experience. This compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a comprehensive benefits program.
Job Description
Patient Care Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with patient care, clerical, OSHA, and organizational tasks.
- Ensure timely patient flow throughout physician encounters.
- Convey a positive image of the practice.
Clerical Responsibilities:
- Obtain lab/mammogram reports, hospital notes, etc.
- Complete forms/requisitions as needed.
- Fulfill all personal and role tasks assigned in the medical records system.
Infection Control and OSHA Guidelines:
- Follow infection control and OSHA guidelines, including wearing PPE, correct disposal of sharps and biohazardous material, and preparing for procedures according to departmental protocol.
- Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits.
- Maintain accurate equipment calibration records and infection control records.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, some college preferred.
- Course in medical assisting with medical assistant certification.
- Minimum of one year experience as a medical assistant, preferably in the OB/GYN field.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the healthcare field and medical specialty.
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to a particular medical specialty.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems and Windows environment.
