Role Responsibilities

The Clinical Research Nurse will play a pivotal role in:

  • Collaborating with physicians to identify and evaluate potential candidates for clinical trials.
  • Conducting informed consent discussions with patients regarding trial participation.
  • Monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or changes in their condition.
  • Providing education to both staff and patients about investigational treatments.
  • Ensuring meticulous documentation and data entry to comply with trial protocols.
  • Acting as a liaison among various departments to facilitate the smooth execution of clinical trials.
  • Overseeing the preparation and compliance of physician orders with research protocols.
  • Maintaining regulatory documents in line with industry standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • A minimum of three years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
  • Experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
  • OCN certification is preferred, along with CCRC or CCRP certification.

Working Environment

This position may involve exposure to various health-related conditions typical in an oncology setting. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move patients, maintain manual dexterity, and endure long periods of standing and walking.
