Grooming Salon Leader

This role is responsible for leading the operations of the grooming salon, driving results to grow the business, and achieving targeted goals.

The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, train and coach staff, and provide exceptional customer service to pet parents and their dogs.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and adapt to varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Take the initiative to support selling initiatives, including thanking customers, engaging with them, advising products or services, and making it memorable.
• Manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling, safety checklists, and salon audits.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding new Groomers and Groom Technicians, ensuring timely completion of training requirements and mentoring where needed.
• Partner with the Store Manager daily/weekly, filtering communication to the salon and managing business to plan.
• Drive salon growth through calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up phone calls, and reminders.
• Lead salon team members by driving professional development, coaching for improvement, and reviewing performance key metrics.
• Provide professional grooming services for dogs, using knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of animals, inspecting them for external signs of parasites, disease, or injury, and reporting findings to pet owners.
• Practice safety and sanitization protocols, sanitizing and maintaining upkeep of all grooming tools and equipment.
• Maintain records of all pet clients, including services provided and vaccination records.
• Operate a computer as needed, recover the store if necessary, and ensure the safety and well-being of live animals.
• Complete all documentation associated with job duties and enforce and follow all salon policies and procedures.

This role requires a strong ability to work independently, think critically, and prioritize tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will be a team player, able to communicate effectively with associates and customers, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to operate all grooming tools and equipment, including bathing tubs, brushes, combs, scissors, clippers, dryers, and bathing products.

Working conditions include a favorable working environment, moderate noise, and exposure to wet conditions, sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste.

This role requires a strong ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals, and frequently move for 4-8 hours per day around the salon to groom animals, clean, and maintain the salon.

The ideal candidate will be able to successfully complete all required training and possess strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
