Position Overview:
As a key member of our management team, the Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the store in the absence of the Store Manager. This role is pivotal in driving sales performance and ensuring operational excellence while fostering a positive environment for both associates and customers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and support store operations to achieve financial and sales objectives.
- Cultivate strong relationships with team members and customers, promoting a culture aligned with Hannaford's values.
- Maintain effective communication with the management team and all store associates.
Qualifications:
- A college degree or relevant experience in Retail Management is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of store operations and merchandising strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks and technical requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of stock items.
- Capability to work in varying temperatures and handle cleaning and food products.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in managing staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ability to communicate company policies effectively and treat all associates with respect.
- Support the development and training of team members to enhance their skills.
Financial Accountability:
- Assist in achieving financial targets including sales, payroll, and shrink control.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain security and safety standards.
- Utilize company tools for financial reporting and inventory management.
Compensation:
