Position Summary

Every member of the KIPP KC Team & Family plays an essential role in guiding our students toward academic and personal success. As a Lead Teacher, you will provide outstanding instruction and evaluate student progress. You are committed to ongoing professional development and actively contribute to the academic and cultural growth of your school and team. Your dedication to educational equity is evident in the relationships you build with students and families, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and heard.

Core Responsibilities:

Instructional Delivery and Evaluation
  • Create or adapt comprehensive, standards-aligned unit and lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Utilize assessment data to adjust both short-term and long-term instructional strategies to enhance student performance.
  • Welcome and integrate constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Maintain precise records, including grade books and data tracking systems.
Academic and Cultural Engagement
  • Take personal accountability for student success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to cultivate an environment that encourages critical thinking and academic excellence.
  • Build and sustain trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Participate in essential school activities, including supervisory duties during various school functions.
  • Engage in key school events such as staff meetings and family engagement nights.
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities with punctuality and consistency.
  • Model the cultural expectations of the school community.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong focus on achieving results and a commitment to collaborative teamwork.
  • Deep commitment to educational equity and serving underserved populations.
  • Valid teaching license in Missouri with necessary certification for the assigned subject and grade level.
  • Proven knowledge in the core subject area assigned.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
Note: Applicants currently pursuing certification may apply prior to its completion, but all certifications must be finalized and submitted before the end of the first year of employment.

Salary for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience. KIPP KC also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement options.
