Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Construction Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the on-site daily operations of golf course construction projects, managing everything from demolition and grading to irrigation and grassing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Project Manager to identify project requirements and develop a comprehensive project plan.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings, safety plans, and pre-task safety huddles to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead daily crew, equipment, and materials management to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Responsible for environmental compliance, filling out logs, reports, and checklists to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Daily documentation of production and review to track project progress.
  • Understanding and ability to interpret plans and specifications to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Place and train employees with the skills needed for each specific task to ensure project success.
  • Equipment requirements and management to ensure optimal project execution.
  • Equipment compliance verifying operators are completing daily preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Daily recording of all project quantities and materials to ensure accurate project tracking.
  • Meet with owners and representatives to ensure project satisfaction.
  • Meet with engineers and architects of a project to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Daily recording of as-builts to ensure accurate project documentation.
  • Surveying and layout with GPS equipment to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Lead and manage crews and participate in the work as needed to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all golf course construction practices and techniques including demolition, grading, drainage, feature construction, irrigation, finishing, and grassing.
  • Project safety and policy enforcement to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Erosion control and environmental compliance to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply information obtained from plans, surveys, and job specifications.
  • An unwavering focus on safety to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to ensure effective project execution.
  • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, and reasoning skills required to ensure project success.
  • GPS daily setup, use for layout of features, and collecting data for as-builts and production review.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly to ensure project success.
  • Conduct employee reviews to ensure employee development and growth.
  • Negotiation skills to ensure effective communication with stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4-year college degree preferred or a minimum of 1-2 years field experience in golf course construction.
  • Minimum 2 years of golf course construction experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly must be able to move around a construction site on his/her own.
  • Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit.
  • At times effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
