Residential Property Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tenant Affairs Specialist to join our team at Transitional Services for New York Inc. in Whitestone, NY.

About the Job:

The Tenant Affairs Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and updating lease and security deposit lists, reviewing monthly rent payment histories, and preparing non-payment letters. This role will also involve monitoring ERAP and hardship applications, assisting with evictions, and maintaining relationships with landlords and residential program staff.

Responsibilities:

1. • Maintain accurate records of lease files, security deposits, and rental payments
   • Review and analyze data on tenant rent payments, identifying potential issues and taking corrective action as needed
   • Prepare and send non-payment notices to tenants, following established protocols
   • Collaborate with the Assistant Director, Tenant Affairs, and Director of Tenant Affairs to resolve tenant-related issues
   • Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments related to landlord services
   • Provide excellent customer service to tenants, responding promptly to inquiries and resolving concerns
   • Work collaboratively with the Residential Program Staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery
   • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the success of the organization
   

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need a High School Diploma/Bachelor's degree and/or similar job experience. You should have strong analytical skills, with the ability to utilize budgetary, operational, financial, and related information effectively. A valid New York State Driver's License and a safe driving history are also required. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) is essential, along with basic knowledge of office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, printers, and computers.

Work Environment:

This position may require occasional travel to sites in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx. A driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary for this role.

Estimated Salary Range:

$40,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience.
