Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or hold a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Essential Skills: Proficiency in conducting assessments of non-paved road conditions. Training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel is required.
Key Responsibilities:

This role involves evaluating the surface conditions of aggregate roads, gravel roads, and unimproved roadways utilizing the assessment scales specified in the PASER Gravel Roads Manual and the PASER Unimproved Roads Manual.

  • Conduct surface condition evaluations on aggregate roads, gravel roads, and unimproved roads according to the guidelines set forth in the PASER manuals. This task constitutes 100% of the role.
Additional Information:
  • Training will be provided for the PASER Gravel Roads Manual and the PASER Unimproved Roads Manual.
  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel is expected during the standard workweek, Monday through Friday.
  • Overnight travel may be necessary during the workweek, Monday through Friday.
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Condition assessments may involve traversing uneven terrain and traveling along extensive stretches of non-paved road surfaces.
  • Required Safety Equipment: Visible Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and hard hats.
  • Safety Gear Usage: It is mandatory to wear visible PPE while conducting surveys on the road for safety purposes.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires travel to perform assessments on non-paved gravel roads in remote forested areas. The role may necessitate walking on non-paved roads to ascertain condition ratings.
