Job Summary

Missouri State University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our campus buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain floors, carpets, and stairs in assigned areas, using handheld or powered floor machines to sweep, vacuum, and mop floors.
  • Clean and dust building furnishings, including office furniture and equipment, within assigned areas.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean and sanitary by following prescribed procedures for sweeping, washing, and/or scrubbing the restrooms, restocking paper products, and refilling soap dispensers.
  • Remove trash and recyclable materials from buildings by collecting trash from various containers, replacing sanitary disposal liners, transporting trash to designated dumpsters, and emptying trash into the dumpsters.
  • Wash all interior and lower-level exterior glass, including windows, mirrors, and door glass.
  • Perform other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in custodial services, including knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and supplies.
  • High School or Equivalency required.
  • Ability to lift and carry custodial supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Prolonged walking or standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to access facilities and areas that may only be accessible by climbing ladders or stairs, bending, reaching on top of partitions, cabinets, bookcases, and ledges, moving furniture, supplies, equipment, or office machines.

This is a part-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our campus buildings.
