Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business & Legal Research Analyst to join our team at DLA Piper. As a key member of our research team, you will provide critical support to our lawyers, paralegals, and staff by conducting in-depth research on a wide range of topics, including legal, business, and intellectual property issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research using various tools and resources, including Lexis+, Westlaw Edge, and Bloomberg Law.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of legal and business research principles, including critical thinking, cost-effective research methods, and effective communication of research findings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to identify research needs and develop effective research strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with new research tools and technologies, including GenAI tools, and apply this knowledge to improve research efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new research resources to ensure the highest level of service and research efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional research support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in library science or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting research in a legal setting, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Strong research skills, including critical thinking, cost-effective research methods, and effective communication of research findings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve research goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing research needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or JD.
  • Experience with TRG's Quest request management system and Vable's current awareness platform.
