The US Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Youth Regional Treatment Center. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing non-professional care to patients with mental conditions under the supervision of the Clinical Director.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Assist in the treatment of patients with adjustment disorders, oppositional and non-compliant behavior, attention deficit disorders, anxiety disorders and phobias, eating disorders, elimination disorders, school-related problems, developmental delay, pervasive developmental disorders, childhood psychosis and affective disorders, abuse and other trauma, and supports the psychological management of medical problems.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications orally and intramuscularly per physician's orders.
- Recognize emergency situations, respond promptly, and institute appropriate action.
- Provide month end, or ad hoc, reports and all other mandatory reports to the Milieu Coordinator and the Health Systems Administrator.
- Responsible for integrating all client information and updating the Master Treatment Plan for clients.
- Document clients' progress in the chart using notation and format designated in the YRTC policies and procedures.
- Must pass pre-employment examination.
- Selectee may be subject to a probationary period.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Rotating shift is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
This is a designated position covered by Public Law, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes.
Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
