Job Summary

The Senior AV Fabrication Technician is a critical role within our team, responsible for performing a wide range of installation duties on technology projects primarily in our shop build environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with project management and other teams to fully understand project requirements and roles.
  • Interpret drawing packages to create portions of the finished systems, including AV technology and cabling.
  • Perform physical installation of a wide variety of technology, including cable fabrication, termination, and testing.
  • Prepare and label cables for fabrication, both by hand and using automated striping machines.
  • Execute and test cable terminations for all Broadcast, Network, and A/V connectors.
  • Read, create, and understand cable wirelists, project drawings, and documentation for cable fabrication.
  • Responsible for Blue Lining project drawings and prepping and packing of racks for shipment to job sites.
  • Proficient at high-density cable dressing, including patch panels and routers.
  • Mentor and train associate fabrication technicians and fabrication technicians.
  • Prepare equipment racks for staging of equipment, wire lacing, and installation of power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.
  • Mount equipment into racks, terminate all wiring and connections to equipment as per technical drawings.
  • Read and understand functional design drawings and equipment rack diagrams.
  • Provide a consistent level of technical performance and flexibility in work schedule, including periodic overtime and extended periods to meet fabrication deadlines.
  • Fiber optic cable handling, installation, termination, and testing.
  • Maintain relationships with CAD and Engineering, provide feedback for efficiencies, and assist in interpreting drawings and enhancing builds.
  • Responsible for maintaining tools and test equipment, materials inventories, and keeping work areas clean, orderly, and well-documented.
  • Maintain daily records of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry.
Requirements
  • At least five years of AV or Broadcast Media experience.
  • OSHA 30 Certificate preferred to obtain before field work.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, and networking equipment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret AV project drawings.
  • Knowledgeable of low-voltage electrical concepts.
  • Possess basic carpentry and/or installation skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills and good customer service skills.
