Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure proper supplies and equipment are available.
  • Assist healthcare team members with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and intake/output.
  • Make patient care rounds and document patient whereabouts and condition.
  • Transport patients, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Report any concerns or issues to the RN or Nurse Manager.
  • Provide unit and patient care areas with supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
  • Provide care delivery to patients, including bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
  • Report any changes in patient behavior or condition to the RN or Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of practical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician certification required.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and turn patients repeatedly.
  • May involve walking, sitting, talking, and listening.
