Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Rhode Island Hospital. This per diem position will be assigned to the Psych Unit on 4 South, working a combination of evening and night shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and implement nursing plans in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patient, and family to ensure effective care and discharge planning.
- Evaluate patient care and identify opportunities for improvement, participating in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
- Assess and provide teaching based on patient and family needs, utilizing all available resources to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Meet and maintain clinical competencies, measured by pre-determined credentialing standards, mandatory/safety education, and completion of Basic Life Support and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred, with a minimum of one year of inpatient nursing experience.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to monitor patient status, assist in lifting and positioning patients, and stand for extended periods. The position requires extensive walking and standing, as well as the ability to push patients on stretchers.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
