Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Denver, Colorado. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance services on our fleet of garbage trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake, and air systems.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Extensive physical activity required, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 60 pounds.
  • Work environment may be indoors in a shop or outdoors to repair trucks on the road.
  • Employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide some or most of your own personal tools.
