We are seeking a committed professional to become part of our team, focusing on the production of superior laminates and films tailored for various applications, such as cabinetry, countertops, paneling, and retail environments.
Position Summary
In the role of Product Innovation Engineer, reporting to the Technical Manager, your primary responsibility will be to develop novel polymeric coatings for the laminate films sector. You will employ a data-centric methodology for laboratory-scale formulation, scaling processes, and full-scale production. Close collaboration with process engineering and production teams is crucial to ensure timely project completion and effective transitions to production. Additionally, you will offer coatings-related assistance to the production team as required.
Key Duties
- Formulate water-based, solvent-based, and UV coatings
- Assess materials and their properties in relation to project objectives
- Design and implement pilot and scale-up trials
- Conduct evaluations of coated samples
- Document findings and interpret data
- Assist production and engineering teams
- Perform other assigned tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline
Preferred Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques
- Knowledge of statistical analysis
- Project management capabilities
- Familiarity with coating development for film substrates
- Understanding of roll-to-roll processing and plastics formulation
