Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the organization, planning, direction, evaluation, and general management of all laboratory operations within the designated section, including outreach services, computer operations, and inventory control.
- Provide essential leadership and administrative support to laboratory personnel.

- Collaborate closely with hospital administration to facilitate the achievement of departmental goals.
- Encourage the professional development of associates and spearhead process improvement initiatives to maintain high-quality, cost-effective services while ensuring satisfaction for patients, physicians, and staff.
- Support CHRISTUS Health by undertaking additional responsibilities as mutually agreed upon to ensure the effective operation of the organization.
Qualifications:
A. Education and Skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience as defined by regulatory standards.
B. Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of full-time primary laboratory experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in moderate/high complexity testing for the specific area of responsibility is required.
- Preferred: 5 years of full-time primary laboratory experience in the same capacity.
C. Licenses and Certifications
- Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from recognized professional organizations is required.
- Certification must be maintained and kept current as per regulatory requirements.
