Role Overview:

This position is client-facing and offers the chance to merge your service-oriented mindset, exceptional interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm for fostering a welcoming atmosphere in the workplace. The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for sophisticated manufacturing machinery, which includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems across a vast multi-million dollar campus.

In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with the Account Leadership team, clients, vendors, and operational staff in a fast-paced environment that requires juggling multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will be adept at processing and analyzing information to fulfill client requirements while coordinating various facility activities and projects at the account level. You must possess strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively, manage stressful situations, and consistently make high-quality decisions.

Additionally, this role demands a high level of critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and specialized communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on forklifts.
  • Analyze manufacturer’s technical manuals to execute necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Diagnose forklift issues, including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, while identifying potential safety concerns and malfunctions.
  • Assess and repair mast and attachment components.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in brake systems and tire/wheel replacements.
  • Work on LP, gas, and diesel systems.
  • Replace defective parts using stock or order new parts for significant repairs.
  • Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for optimal safety and performance.
  • Perform safety inspections of forklifts before returning them to service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas as required.
  • Ensure that work methods comply with safety standards.
  • Keep an organized and tidy workspace.
  • Complete accurate service documents and logs for maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated with new technical information and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift trucks such as Jungheinrich, Crown, Yale, Cat, and Mitsubishi.
  • A solid foundation in mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial electricity is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and willing to take on new projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service both internally and externally.
  • Friendly, confident, and engaging demeanor.
  • Customer-centric approach with a passion for hospitality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Effective team player who can quickly adapt to new ideas and changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of innovation and independence, capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure consistent business support aligns with service level agreements and meets Key Performance Indicators.

  • Implement and manage computerized maintenance management systems in line with JLL and client expectations.
  • Adhere to all JLL work practices and compliance standards.
  • Manage compliance with applicable environmental health and safety programs.
