MRI Technologist Job Summary

The MRI Technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and performing diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies under the direction of the Medical Director.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MRI protocols and be able to coordinate patient flow, operate all systems for routine, specialty, and research studies, and support protocol development.

Responsibilities include performing high-quality diagnostic studies, maintaining integrity of sterile fields, and ensuring accurate documentation associated with each exam. The MRI Technologist will also be responsible for orienting, training, and monitoring new employees in all aspects of the equipment, MRI, Radiology, and the hospital.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, with the ability to troubleshoot MRI equipment and communicate effectively with Radiologists and attending physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic studies on all systems according to specified protocols.
  • Maintain integrity of sterile fields and utilize MRI coils, injectors, and monitors.
  • Ensure accurate documentation associated with each exam, including patient billing.
  • Orient, train, and monitor new employees in all aspects of the equipment, MRI, Radiology, and the hospital.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities as needed to ensure adequate department coverage.
  • Troubleshoot MRI equipment and maintain accurate records of equipment failure.
  • Communicate effectively with Radiologists and attending physicians.
