Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing safe, competent, and evidence-based nutritional therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individual nutritional needs through synthesis of information obtained through assessment interviews, food and nutrition histories, and review of medical records.
  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans to meet assessed needs, including recommendations for diet composition, meal patterns, and supplements.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop goals related to patient care and provide education on normal nutrition and therapeutic diets.
  • Document initial assessment plans and progress in the medical record in accordance with established standards.
  • Evaluate nutritional status and make recommendations for optimal care.
  • Counsel individuals, families, and caregivers on nutrition and provide education on healthy eating habits.
  • Participate in food and nutrition research to demonstrate outcomes and develop policy recommendations.
  • Consult, educate, and advocate on behalf of individuals and groups regarding food, nutrition, and health issues.
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of education programs for dietetic interns and staff.
  • Perform human resource functions, including orientation, training, and mentoring.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of referral processes and systems.
  • Implement outcome-based quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN) certification.
  • Basic Life Support Instructor certification.
