About the Role

The Director of Financial Operations will provide comprehensive financial and operational support to the Division of Operations. This role will oversee capital projects, budget management, procurement, and supplier/vendor relations, ensuring the effective and efficient management of the College's resources.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and administer major capital and IT project budgets, ensuring all funding sources are identified and appropriately categorized.
  • Process capital project requests and ensure adherence to the capital project request approval process.
  • Work with the Office of Budget and Finance to ensure proper entry and tracking of projects and requisitions according to the College's capitalization policy.
  • Collaborate with facilities teams on the issuance of request for proposals (RFP) and invitations for bid (IFB).
  • Manage vendor relations in support of facilities-related projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in facilities, IT, and campus safety to identify enterprise-wide sourcing and procurement opportunities.
  • Oversee contract and supplier management, including the execution and monitoring of key supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Provide collaborative management of the maintaining assets plan (MAP) and prepare multi-year projections for the associate vice president and vice president of operations.
  • Support the annual budget request process and enter data into the PBCS system, ensuring all supplemental requests and allocations are tracked and managed effectively.
  • Respond to data requests from external agencies and internal departments, including preparing and entering the state capital budget request into the New Jersey portal.
  • Research, review, negotiate, and execute vendor contracts and renewals, focusing on cost savings and sourcing opportunities.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in finance or a related field and seven years of capital financial management and administration experience, preferably in higher education. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to build consensus across large, diverse stakeholder groups, are essential.
