Division of Energy Management:
Within DCAS, the Division of Energy Management (DEM) plays a pivotal role in driving emissions reduction and energy efficiency across the City’s portfolio. DEM is responsible for managing the City’s utility energy budget, optimizing energy usage, and leading innovative projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Position Overview:
The Lead Project Manager for Renewable Energy Initiatives will operate within DEM's Clean Energy and Innovation Unit. This role involves close collaboration with various units within DEM to ensure the successful implementation of clean energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
Oversee the operations and maintenance of multiple solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems. Engage with vendors to ensure effective project delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements. - Asset Management:
Monitor the performance of the City’s solar systems throughout their operational lifespan. Analyze metered data to ensure systems are functioning as intended and address any discrepancies. - Operations and Maintenance Planning:
Collaborate with agency personnel to provide training and resources for the maintenance of systems. Develop maintenance contracts for City-owned projects. - Data Analysis:
Conduct performance analyses at both project and program levels. Utilize industry-standard modeling software to manage internal metrics and assess project outcomes.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a minimum of eight years of relevant experience in construction or project management, with at least 18 months in a supervisory role. Educational qualifications in engineering or a related field may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong project management capabilities, experience in public sector projects, and proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Excellent communication and relationship management skills are essential.
