Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Mercury Systems. As a key member of our Operations organization, you will provide direction and oversight in the development and manufacturing of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of manufacturing processes and technologies to improve product quality and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Test (DFT) activities
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and phase gate processes to ensure smooth product transitions
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent defects and improve first pass yield
  • Support design changes, tooling updates, and production ramp to meet customer demands
  • Provide production support and resolution for technical issues
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • 7+ years of related experience in production manufacturing, preferably in Aerospace & Defense, Medical Device, Semiconductor, or Contract Manufacturing
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) experience

  • Advanced Degree
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Aerospace & Defense Industry Experience
  • Electro-Mechanical PCBA Assembly experience
  • Engineering specifications - Gerber, Layouts, prints Bill of Material (BOM) structure Enterprise Systems Experience (Aegis Factorylogix MES, PLM, Oracle MRP, ERP)
  • MES experience - Aegis Factorylogix Failure Analysis experience CAD analysis tools Product Design & Development cycle experience Working Knowledge of ESS, HALT / HASS Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Lean or Six Sigma Black or Green belt
