We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at David Lawrence Center. As a key member of our crisis stabilization units, you will provide direct psychiatric services to adults and children in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct psychiatric services to adults and children in a crisis/inpatient setting.
- Collaborate with the Director of Acute Care Services and Medical Director to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Cross-train for coverage of Detox and Crossroads substance use recovery programs.
- Assist Medical Services and Child PHP during times of low census and acuity.
- Attend Baker Act court hearings and complete periodic Baker Act evaluations.
- Provide medication follow-up to inmates at the Collier County Jail via telemedicine.
- Participate in treatment planning with other DLC staff to design optimal client care.
- Assess clients' mental health status and develop treatment recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and families to achieve treatment goals.
- Prescribe and manage medications, responding to address and manage side effects.
- Comply with DLC's policies and procedures relating to restraint, seclusion, and emergency treatment orders.
- Current and clear FL Psychiatrist License & DEA.
- Medical Doctor Degree from a regionally accredited College or University.
- Experience with Baker Acts.
- 2 years of inpatient experience.
- 2 years working with adults, adolescents, and children with severe mental illnesses/co-occurring disorders.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the care and treatment of those with mental health or substance use disorders.
- Ability to collaborate with other programs, outside community agencies, and a diverse client base.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional client boundaries.
- Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively.
- Dedication to the organization's mission, standards, procedures, and protocol.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office 365/Teams.
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations.
- Ability to pass a Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen, and Local Criminal Check.
