Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Charge Nurse in the Behavioral Health Unit. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for leading a team of nursing and support staff, providing direct patient care, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts
  • Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity, and work/patient flow
  • Provide direct patient care as needed
  • Collaborate with staff to identify problems and implement solutions
  • May be required to take patient assignments to meet staffing needs
  • Facilitate a positive patient experience
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and related services
  • Ensure staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols
  • Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth
  • Communicate effectively with various audiences
  • Contribute to the fullest potential of achieving hospital-wide goals
  • Facilitate and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Program in Discipline required; BSN preferred
  • Current RN NV License upon hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, and PALS preferred upon hire, but can be obtained after date of hire
  • A minimum of one (1) year working in an acute hospital setting required
