Nutritional Support Specialist

Position Overview:
Assists in all aspects of food service operations as directed, adhering to established dietary regulations and organizational policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
Support the preparation, serving, and distribution of meals and snacks.
Implement portion control measures during meal preparation and service.
Participate in routine cleaning tasks, ensuring work areas, dining tables, appliances, and floors are maintained.
Assist with the washing and sanitizing of dishes and utensils, including collecting soiled items from carts, trays, and dining areas, and storing clean items appropriately.
Execute daily responsibilities in compliance with established safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.Maintain confidentiality of residents; treat all individuals with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Understand and adhere to Residents' Rights regulations.
Promptly communicate any resident concerns or complaints to the Dietary Manager or Executive Director.
Dispose of food waste in accordance with established guidelines.
Utilize protective gear when handling potentially infectious materials.
Perform additional tasks, assignments, or projects as directed by management.
Ensure proper storage of raw and leftover food items; procure food supplies for upcoming meals.
Report any hazardous conditions, equipment issues, accidents, or incidents to the Dietary Manager and/or Executive Director.
Assist the Dietary Manager/Executive Director as needed and implement recommended changes to ensure compliance with dietary procedures.
Professional Standards:
Adhere to the dress code, maintaining a neat and clean appearance.
Complete annual training requirements.
Meet regulatory standards consistently.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Arrive at work punctually and complete tasks within designated timeframes.
Wear identification while on duty and accurately use the timekeeping system.
Complete required training sessions in a timely manner.
Attend annual reviews and departmental training as scheduled.
Participate in monthly staff meetings.
Represent The Suites of Algiers Point positively and professionally.
Engage in performance improvement and continuous quality enhancement activities.
Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical practices.
Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization.
Regulatory Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Exhibit patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards the elderly.
Maintain good physical and mental health; present a neat, clean, and responsible demeanor.
Must possess sufficient upper body strength to lift, shift, and assist in moving items weighing over twenty-five pounds.
Ability to squat, reach, and stretch comfortably. Must be capable of enduring extended periods of walking and standing.Language Skills:
Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in additional languages is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer literacy.
