About the Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Issuing and coordinating the completion and close-out of Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Analyzing data, preparing graphs/charts, and writing reports to validate or identify deviations from existing standards.
  • Monitoring and managing the quality database to close internal and customer corrective actions, including those at regional facilities.
  • Conducting 90-day validation audits.
  • Developing, implementing, and enhancing in-house audit processes.
  • Creating and maintaining internal and validation audit schedules.
  • Implementing ongoing quality improvement processes in collaboration with interdepartmental teams.
  • Conducting routine quality briefings with production and machining cells.
  • Writing and reviewing 8Ds, QIRs, and 5 Why documents.
  • Managing PPAP samples and the PPAP filing system.
  • Preparing and completing action plans in response to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Reviewing quality assurance standards, studying existing policies and procedures, and interviewing personnel and customers to assess the effectiveness of the quality assurance program.
  • Performing QA studies such as Gage R&Rs.
  • Managing and promoting SSPs and the SSP database.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company Quality Manual and ISO 9001 requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with ISO 9001.
  • Experience with auditing.
  • Continuous improvement / six sigma experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain with an employer for multiple years.
  • Team-oriented personality.
