Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count Program Overview

The Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count Federal Work-Study Program is a unique opportunity for students to engage with early childhood programs on campus and in the community. As a program assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers, engage directly with children, and provide one-on-one and/or small-group instruction.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational programs
  • Engage directly with children, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Provide one-on-one and/or small-group instruction, tailored to individual needs
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure seamless program delivery
Requirements
  • Must be a current Penn State student
  • Must be available to work between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, with a minimum commitment of 2 hours per day
  • Must be able to establish a regular schedule, with specific days and times to be determined upon hire
  • Must be willing to undergo background checks and clearance processes
