We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Transfer Center team in a full-time evening position. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the transfer process, ensuring seamless transitions for patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate direct admissions and hospital transfers to and from community hospitals, prioritizing patient care and safety.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff, upholding the values of Baptist Health System.
- Serve as a clinical resource for non-nursing transfer center staff, providing expert guidance on clinical decisions and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on EMTALA regulations and other relevant healthcare laws, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Utilize electronic systems to facilitate bed flow and expedite patient placement, optimizing hospital resources.
- Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period, demonstrating expertise and adaptability.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an acute care setting.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, ER/Critical Care experience, or charge nurse, house supervisor, or management experience.
- Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
